Finally out of Colorado! Not that we don’t love the state
having lived in Boulder for several years. It’s just icy snow and RVs don’t go
well together, especially when bringing frozen slide-outs in under piles of it.
We are, however, happy for our Colorado friends who are now close to being out
of a severe drought.
We took off early in the morning, after sunrise and rode across
the entire state, into some new-for-us territory. If you’re in a 38 foot motor
home, and happen to be towing a car, you can appreciate this route over the Continental
Divide. Not nearly as aggressive as I 70 through the Eisenhower Tunnel and Vail
Pass, I 80 was more of a gentle continuous rise up the Divide and around the
southern edge of the Great Basin.
The western part of the stare was much like the Western
Slopes of Colorado and then the scenery slipped into Utah rock formations. We
passed tan corduroy hills and moonscape piles of rocks.
Today, Boise Idaho, and our first opportunity to add a new
state decal to the side of our Winnebago.
